Sheraton vs Hyatt

Deciding on these 2 hotels- travellig with a toddler - just for 2 nights.

Which is nicer in your opinion? I do like the Hyatt but is it more worth it for 2 nights?

Also not a clear mention of complimentary breakfast buffets?

Thanks!

Sheraton vs Hyatt

I have not stayed at either property, but the Sheraton is on a much better section of beach and closer to the Whalers Village. The beach on the north side of Black Rock is very nice as well.

If the Hyatt offers complimentary breakfast it will be clearly noted.

Only 2 nights? Considering all the Sheraton regulars who absolutely love it, the overall location, I would book the Sheraton and park myself on Kaanapali beach.

Sheraton vs Hyatt

Thanks for your reply!

I am also wondering where the closest grocery is for basic items like milk- from the Sheraton that is...

You can swing into Safeway at Cannery Mall on your way to the Sheraton from the airport. However unless you have an Oceanfront room there is no fridge. If you even move the items in the mini-bar you will be charged for them! Suggest you call and see if they will let you have another fridge in your room. No complimentary breakfast...take the free shuttle North to the Westin Villas and walk down to Castaway Cafe at the Maui Kanaanapli Villas for breakfast. Enjoy!

mamma - no fridge in the rooms at the Sheraton? hmmm

pc007 - I am going to echo what mamma suggested, call the Sheraton - but if they want to charge you for the empty fridge, I would then call the Hyatt.

You know your toddler might love all the animals and birds that are on the grounds at the Hyatt anyway. Either property would be nice.

pc007 - take a few minutes to sign up for Hyatt Gold Passport through their website - they do offer discounts for members. Starwood also has a program.

Sorry LesRose, of course there is the mini-bar, which they may clear out. Just make sure you have someone else do it...many here, including the Westin and Sheraton, now have ';sensors'; that record when you so much as move something! May not have made it to Hawaii yet but I%26#39;d check.

We stayed at the Hyatt with a 20 month old and a 4yo and it was perfect. There was lots of built-in entertainment with the walkways and paths and bridges, plus the birds and the koi feedings.

The kiddie pool was fantastic and has nice, smooth pebbles on the bottom - no bonks if you fall. The little fountains and waterslide were a blast.

One thing that is great about the Hyatt%26#39;s beach is that it is RIGHT THERE. No trekking across a big stretch of sand to get to it, and when you have kids that change their mind alot about what they want to do or have to go potty or whatever it%26#39;s minimal hassle. The pool is literally steps from the beach. I liked this aspect for me, too, actually! The beach that was there was all we needed.

I haven%26#39;t stayed at the Sheraton but it%26#39;s very popular here, but I don%26#39;t think it has a kiddie pool and I think you%26#39;d really enjoy the Hyatt%26#39;s.

Can you walk around the hyatt to see the penguins flamingos etc even if you dont stay there? like wise use their kiddie pool one/twice?

pc007,

I have stayed at the Hyatt and also the Sheraton. The Sheraton has a better location and bigger rooms. The Hyatt has better food or at least the breakfast place when we were there. We fell in love with the Hyatt and went to the Sheraton because it was cheaper. But then we stayed at the Sheraton and fell in love with the Sheraton. You can go wrong with either and yes you can walk though he Hyatt everyone does and try their breakfast at Swan court. I think it depends on what you are looking for and again we loved both hotels with a stronger preference for the Sheraton.

ment to say you cant go wrong with either hotel
