HELP FAST! Was suppose to go to Cancun now Hawaii

I really need some help. We were suppose to go to Cancun with our 19 month son on the 16th. We have decided not to go and have an airline credit with Continential from Seattle. This does not leave us much options. We decided on Honolulu beacause the flights go there. I have not done my research beacuse this was no in the plan. Please help me.

I am looking for a resort like feel, want to spend $2400 for 7 night at the very most. A waterpark or kids pool wouldbe perfect but I think they are hard to come by. I need a CLEAN, higher end hotel and not sure if I can find this for $2400. Please recomend 2-3 hotels for me please!!! I really want to feel like I am at a resort, not a hotel or a condo.

Try Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki or maybe K%26#39;Olina (not sure about spelling) just about 20 mins. from Waikiki, or possibly Turtle Bay on the north shore of Oahu.

Be sure to travel outside of Waikiki while you are there. Go to the Polynesian Cultural Center also.

Look for the Dusty list on here and you can%26#39;t go wrong with ideas. He%26#39;s got everything down to a T.

If you post on Maui board someone might have some suggestions there.

Good luck! I don%26#39;t think you will be disappointed with your second choice! We love Hawaii!

Marriott Koolina Beach Club is a decent. They have a waterslide. Hawaiian Adventures Water Park is decent. Only 5 minutes or so from the resort.

Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki has a waterslide now.

Lots of Oahu info:

Ko%26#39;Olina will rescue your vacation good luck! make the reservations then come back for more advise! Oh yeah get your car nailed down now...getting few and far between!

We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations at Hilton Hawaiian Village several weeks ago. We had a one bedroom unit with full kitchen. It looks like for your dates you can get a 1 bedroom oceanview for around $300/nt. Don%26#39;t forget to use AAA pricing if you%26#39;re a member.

We stayed at HHV because we wanted somewhere fun for our children 6 %26amp; 8 and be at Waikiki. While we enjoyed our stay, our room was perfect, the beach and lagoon were beautiful, and the pools/slides were fun (except for being cold when we were there), to me it really didn%26#39;t have that resort feel. Too large of a complex.

On Oahu: Ko Olina or Turtle Bay.

Maui: Many hotels and beachfront condos in Wailea and South Kihei; many in Kaanapali, Napili, Kapalua.

Kauai: Poipu

Big Island: Waikoloa, Mauna Lani

See every lodging in Hawaii here: www.wizardpub.com Ignore pricing as it doesn%26#39;t reflect Recession.

Waikiki would not be my choice for clean beach or quiet with a toddler. A single hotel room with one bath wouldn%26#39;t be my choice either. I%26#39;d want a condo with more *space*, two baths, a kitchen, washer/dryer, and a nice private lanai to enjoy while the child naps or is in bed early.

Forgot to mention.... I hear that the Marriott Ko Olina is wonderful, but since we didn%26#39;t stay there I can%26#39;t comment on it.

After Oahu we went to Maui, which to me had the more laid back feel. However, since you only have 7 nights your flight options look much better to HNL than OGG (Maui). I don%26#39;t know if an interisland flight would be worth looking into. Might be too much of a hassle.

Ko Olina is very nice. Great pools for little ones like a zero entry, sand bottom pool, safe lagoons and a new multitier pool with waterslide which I will see when I get there in just 7 days!

If you can swing it, I would suggest that you get the one bedroom apt at minimum so you have some place to stretch out and have some privacy. The one bedrooms have full kitchens.

You will definitely need to have a car there. Let us know what you end up doing.

HHV (Hilton Hawaiian Village) fits what you describe. Don%26#39;t know their prices. Waikiki is just not all that large %26amp; most of the hotels are fairly small properties (hotels not ';resorts';) and only have a small, simple pool, even the high end places.

As far as other planning for activities and such, I wouldn%26#39;t freak out. It%26#39;s VERY easy to fly into Honolulu, get a taxi to Waikiki, and have a nice beach vacation, even without a lot of pre-planning. There%26#39;s tons of information everywhere... in your hotel lobby, in boxes along the street with publications like ';101 Things to Do';.

aloha, suze

I was supposed to go to playa del carmen, mexico and went to Oahu instead !!! Just got back last week :) Thanks to all the great people here on TA i was able to switch and get everything planned in a week and a half!!!! We stayed at the Hale Koa (military) but went right next door to the hilton hawaii village and went on their grounds to see the penguins (feeding at 8am) and used their pool, (my 8 yr old loved their little water slides).. ABSOLUTELY beautiful hotel, from the outside of course :)... we rented thru Alamo who had a special of 200 bucks for a convertible for the week and someone in TA posted a 25 dollar off coupon that i used. We did the cultural center, dole plantation, pearl harbour and diamond head. In hindsight i am SO GLAD we went to Hawaii instead.. i%26#39;ve been to Mexico before and this was our first time to Hawaii.. We absolutely loved it and plan to go back!!!! HAVE FUN
