Any whales left?

We are headed to Maui this Friday, May 1 staying for a week at Kihei Surfside. Are people still seeing whales? If so, where? My husband and I have never seen one so just one sighting would be really cool for us. I noticed that the whale cruises still go out until May 15 and have a discounted rate of $22. Is it worth it? Do they still find whales?

Please tell the whales to stick around and enjoy the warm waters a little longer :-)

Any whales left?

I saw a surface active group several miles offshore toward the island of Lana`i this morning from the West Maui shore. I could still hear humpbacks in the water last week-end in South Maui. Since, there are more humpbacks each year, they seem to be spreading out geographically and making their season start earlier and end later. For a $22 boat ride, it%26#39;s a bargain, and you may even see whales.

Any whales left?

We saw some yesterday between Lahaina and Lanai. Go check them out.

Wow for $22 bucks the boat ride alone would be worth it...there%26#39;s always a chance you get to wave to the last ones heading north!

We didn%26#39;t see any yesterday, but saw some 4 out of 5 days before that. Two days ago we saw 6 breaches in a row then a double breach, between the condo spot in lahaina and molokai(sp?). the week before when we were in Hana we saw two as well...even the locals seem surprised they are still here...

I will be in Maui November 19th till 27th. Will there be whales there yet at this time or is this to early in the year for them? When do whale watching tours start for the season?

You will be lucky to see them in November. The tours start mid December.

We%26#39;ve been here since monday - saw a few spouts offshore yesterday morning but that%26#39;s about it. There may be a few strays left but most have headed north for the summer.
