Ka'anapali Beach Club

We are staying in a 2 bdrm/2 bath in October at KBC and have a few questions:

1. On Google Earth it looks like KBC is a lot farther north than Ka%26#39;anapali Beach Hotel. Is that correct?

2. Is the beach okay at KBC? Does the boardwalk go up to KBC?

3. Can anyone tell me what kind of view I can expect from the 2 bdrm units?

Any information that anyone can give me would be appreciated.

Ka'anapali Beach Club

It%26#39;s a few miles from the Kaanapali beach resorts. No real way to walk to Kaanapali. Not the most honest name for the resort. It%26#39;s still a nice resort, just not in Kaanapali.

Ka'anapali Beach Club

Hi

I ditto Cliff.

This is a timeshare resort that used to be called Embassy Suites and recently renamed itself KBC.

It is about 10 hotels north of KBH in the Honokowai area.

The boardwalk does not go past Honua Kai.

Thanks so much for the information.

We stayed at the Ka%26#39;anapali Beach Club for 5 nights in January in a 1 bedroom partial ocean view room. It was very nice and updated. My only ';complaint'; was the lack of kitchen items (i.e. more than 1 sharp knife). We knew ahead of time that it was a partial kitchen in the sense of no oven, but there was a microwave, fridge/freezer of course, toaster, full coffee maker, and you could also get a slow cooker and some other items if you asked they would deliver them to your room. The beach is fine. There are some rocks, but you can tell where you can swim in the ocean without rocks. There are also 3 large grills outside to use to bar-b-que if you choose. No, the boardwalk does not go up, but we walked on the beach. Since we did not rent a car, we also used the public bus for $1.00 per person. You catch that right out at the KBC. There is also a Subway, grocery store, and some other stores/restaurants about a 10 minute walk across the street. I could contact the KBC directly on what type of view you will have. The pool is very nice as was the workout room. The hottub was sort of small for the size of place, but not really crowded. I understand they are in the process of refurbishing the pool/spa area, so that may be improved by the time you get there. There is also a water slide and water falls at the pool. There is also laundry units available on every (I think even) level. The hotel, towels, and pool chairs are pink. Have a great trip! I think we will be happy with the KBC.

Aloha chamberbear,

You may want to take a look at the wizardpub web site which many of us here on the Forum often suggest when making a decision about which resort is right for you. The aerial view will show you the layout and also give a very accurate review of the resort. I have never stayed there, but have eaten in their restaurant and bought snacks in the snack bar many times and am always impressed by the beauty of the grounds and waterfalls and the size of the pool. I also like their little shops and the lobby is really beautiful, especially with the live parrots that really help create that tropical feel. Hope this helps.

If you walk down the driveway or the beach to the mahana hotel you can catch the beach boardwalk. You can take that to the sheraton and navigate your way through to the other side to the boardwalk that goes another mile to the Hyatt.

Call the hotel and ask for a room up near the top floor. The higher you are the better the view. Ask for a good view. I know there are some 2 bedrooms with awesome views.

Have a great time!

Our last stay at the former Embassy Suites was in 2002, and we were very happy with it. I%26#39;m not sure what changes have been made since then. At that time you could buy a week-long pass to their buffet breakfast for something like $25/person, which was quite a deal; you couldn%26#39;t buy the variety of fresh fruit for your own kitchen at that price! The pass included an evening happy hour with free cocktails and snacks where we met a lot of others from around the country (and world). The partial kitchen was fine for us as we had the breakfast buffet and mostly used the kitchen to make bag lunches for our day trips and for reheating leftovers from a couple restaurant meals. There is strip mall shopping, fast food, and groceries, just a short walk north of the property. We even happened upon a gourmet take-out place owned by a local chef where we bought a couple meals to eat back in our room.

The hotel has a wonderful beach right there on the property, and the snorkeling there is fabulous -- lots of fish, eels, turtles, coral, urchins (ugh) . . . we also took many strolls up and down Kaanapali Beach past other developments.

Thanks so much for all of the great information. This forum is awesome.
