Marriott's Lahaina and Napili Villas

We have a March 21 reservation for the Marriott Maui Ocean Club Lahaina and Napili Villas. We are using points. We have a one bedroom villa Ocean front - Does anyone have any information about this location. We%26#39;re using Marriott points. Where/How do we check in when we get there? What are the rooms like? What are the pools like? Is there any other information that would help us out. The Marriott website gives us little information.

Thanks!

Marriott's Lahaina and Napili Villas

Wow lucky you! I love this resort although I have not stayed in one of the new towers. We will be there the first week of April staying in the older converted building in an ocean view 1 bedroom. Having a full kitchen is not that big of a deal to me however I would love to have a washer %26amp; dryer. The location of the resort is excellent. There is a paved walkway that goes along kaanapali beach past all of the resorts and Whalers Village which has several shops and restaurants. The pool at the Marriott is fantastic. The main pool is huge with a water slide and a waterfall with a cave grotto. Each new tower also has their own pool which will be much quieter as all the kids want to be at the main pool. The beach is not the best right in front of the Marriott however just south of the resort the beach gets much wider. The beach comes and goes along this stretch of beach due to the tidal currents in the various seasons. The restaurants on site are OK but I have not eaten at main restaurant since it changed its name to Longboards. When it was Va Bene we really enjoyed it. The other restaurant is not really a sit down restaurant. It has a small menu that serves B-L %26amp;D. You order at the window and they call your number out when your order is ready. It is ocean front with all outside ocean side tables. I have eaten breakfast there several times. My husband likes the breakfast burritos and my son and I like the pancakes. It also has a lot of to go items like pastries, salads, sandwiches etc. There is also a pool bar that makes good but expensive drinks but they do have a daily drink special and they make a good burger!. You will have a better ocean front view in the Lahaina building as it is closer to the beach and has a lovely grassy lawn in front and the Napili building is set further back and has a pool directly in front of it so there might be noise from people at the pool.

Our family really enjoys this resort and we have never been disappointed. The staff has always been very friendly and I can hardly wait until we get there.

Marriott's Lahaina and Napili Villas

I have to agree with everything the previous poster said. We own at the Maui Marriott, the original towers. We toured the Lahaina Tower and the units are beautiful, you will love it. The Napila tower just opened, so either one would be great.

The location is in Kaanapali on the beachwalk that leads to Whaler%26#39;s Village. It has nice restaurants and is a great place to go in the evening.

I will let you know after our trip! We are leaving February 1st and also got the 1 bedroom oceanfront using our Marriott points. It was the deciding factor for us heading to Maui (that and the great airfare from Pittsburgh). I have talked to the hotel and know that the new tower opens Jan 30th. I hope we actually get into the Napili tower.

If you want to see photos of the inside of the new rooms, go to webshots.com and type in Maui Ocean Club. Someone actually took pictures of the inside of the new rooms (probably from the model). The one bedroom is a lock-off of the 2 bedroom unit. It will have the full kitchen, living room area with a fold out sofa. Washer/dryer. There is a jetted tub in the master bedroom, and the bathroom has the sink/tub/shower.

There is a lanai the has access from the living room and master bedroom. The lanai has a table and 4 chairs. A little small... and I wish it has a lounger but free is free so who am I to complain!

In addition to the large pool with slides, both new towers have their own pool. I was told by the hotel that they provide a ';1st nighter kit'; with coffee etc... then the rest you would want to purchase.

As far as check in... you should just be able to go to the reception area to check in. You should have an electronic certificate on file, and the front desk should be able to pull it up with no problem (keep fingers crossed.... check your online reservation and make sure it shows that the certificate has been ordered). They should require you to put a credit card down for incidentals, and the only other costs you should have is for parking, and anything else you charge to your room.

You can also find a really cool video @ vacationclub.com, Marriott%26#39;s site trying to sell their timeshares. If you choose the Maui Ocean Club (not the Lahaina Villas) they show a video for the property which has shots of the new rooms....

I%26#39;ll post my pictures once we get back mid February!

Thanks for all the information. We can%26#39;t wait. Yes, it%26#39;s hard to beat the price! 125.000 points! Now that they took out the black out dates, it%26#39;s going to take a lot more points to do something like this. We stayed at the Maui Marriott years ago, so I take it that they%26#39;ve transformed these into condos? As long as there is a reception area on site, I should be good to go with the check in. We really like the area, so it should be awesome! I definitely would like to hear about your impressions when you get back...especially if you get the new tower room. Thanks again for all your help!

Lvtolvlife--I would also appreciate if you post how your trip goes and what tower you are put in. I think it was you that posted about the availability of the Maui Marriott using points. I have never seen that before and I jumped on the chance to add a few days to our trip. I got 4 nights ocean front 1 bedroom in June using points. (So, thank you!)

I won%26#39;t mind either tower, both are so new and nice. I would like to see what the new pool is like by the Napili Tower. I thought ocean front could only be Napili, but now I think it could also be the 1 bedroom in the Lahaina tower.

Have fun and post a trip report! :)

We too are using points to stay at the Marriott villas in early March. We generally use points to stay at the Marriott in Wailea but the appeal of a kitchen drew us to try this. It%26#39;s been impossible in the past to find a villa on Kauai for points!

I think it%26#39;s going to be great to be at Kaanapali where there%26#39;s more to do close by.

I assume there will be pool towels you can check out but other than that I expect to bring everything I need (cooking items such as spices, salt, pepper...binoculars, beach toys). We are spoiled by staying in private condos that supply those items!

It is amazing...even the vacation club on Kauai had condos available for points. Can you imagine having to decide which place to stay for free! We decided on Maui especially because this condo is oceanfront. I have also packed most of the things noted, but have decided to not pack the beach toys or snorkel gear (gonna rent that).

We brought all that stuff when we went to Oahu in July and hated dragging it around... plus we didn%26#39;t pay luggage fees then like we will this trip! They might have it available there at the condo so we are going to wait and see then buy it @ Walmart if they don%26#39;t. We stayed last spring at the Marriott Marco Island and they actually provided those things for the kids to play with....

We just got back from our stay in the new towers. We were lucky to be one of the first to stay in the new Napili tower. We had an ';oceanfront'; 1 bedroom booked with points. The unit they assigned us was brand new, on the 4th floor. When we walked in we were blown away at how nice these units were. We had just spent one night at the Westin Villas in a one bedroom, and the living area was half the size of the Marriott units.

I did have a problem with the location of the room, and had to request a change of room (which they did not want to honor at first). Even though the whole Napili tower is considered either oceanfront or mountain view, the rooms on the ';curve'; of the building should be considered ';oceanview';. We had the end unit and when we walked out on the balcony we were facing directly into the side of their other building. You had to turn sideways to see the ocean. They kept saying at first that they had no other rooms, but since the whole building was ';empty'; they finally moved around some assignments and put us in a 3rd floor unit facing the ocean.

If I were to ';purchase'; an oceanfront room here, and got the rooms on the curve, I would be upset. If you are sitting on your balcony facing forward, an oceanfront room would not have you facing your neighbors directly.

They have a great pool right below the Napili tower. That being said, if I were to pick the best location, the Lahaina tower would be a better choice. We had a lot of noise coming up from the pool into our room. I noticed the Lahaina tower does not have this.

Parking is an issue without a doubt. There is a small parking garage in front of the Napili tower. Soon to be all valet, but when we were there we had limited spaces. It is a 15 minute walk from their parking garage to the Napili towers. The parking garage is attached to the Lahaina tower.

The rooms were wonderful, as were the pools. Loved having a full stove, and we used the grills downstairs once. The kitchen was well stocked.. the only thing they didn%26#39;t have is large bowls. They had tiny small bowls, which would have been hard to use for cereal or something else. I will post a full review later with photos.. Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks for the review! We saw the Napila Villa being built last summer and I know what you mean about the room on the curve. I%26#39;m going to request a room not on the curve!

Parking was an issue as soon as the Lahaina villas opened up. Many times it is full! The front desk said they didn%26#39;t estimate enough parking places. Many of the 2-3 bedroom villas has several families that need 3-4 parking places!

I%26#39;m glad you liked the new villas. We toured the Lahaina Villas last year and thought they were beautiful.

The only issue I have about us going in June is that the super pool is supposed to be closed for repairs. We%26#39;re not too happy about that. I know it needs to be done, but how about doing it in the winter? :)

I agree about the problem with the superpool. Even though we were there during a ';low'; time, the superpool always seemed ';crowded';. The other pools are nice, but not very big. The one%26#39;s over at Napili Villas are long and narrow. Not a bunch of chairs. Hopefully they will still have a lot of the chairs available but I agree they should have planned to have the pool done June 1st at the least.

    1. Great thoughts you got there, believe I may possibly try just some of it throughout my daily life.
