Lahaina Roads

What is this condo like? Is it walking distance to town?

Lahaina Roads

It%26#39;s north of town. Maybe 2/10th of a mile to the Cannery Mall and 3/10ths to where the Old Lahaina Luau is held and maybe 1 mile, maybe a little less, to the shopping and dining area of Front Street. Lahaina Shores is a much better choice.

Why do you prefer Lahainia Shores? Is it more central? Its on the water too? Thanks

Much much nicer place. Little better location as the resort sits on a sandy beach and while Lahaina Roads sits on shore, there is no beach in front of it.

You be the judge:

Thanks for your help Suzie

Lahaina Shores is quieter and has the nice beach.

Just a heads up that Lahania Shores will be under construction for the next 9 month. They are replacing all the concrete pillar and balconies. The rep said they will only work days but it will be noisy and dusty.

Good reasonably priced alternative (and central location to beaches and activities) would be Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Lahaina Shores is right in Lahaina but very small beach and is in South end of town - still need a car to see any attractions or other sights.

Lahaina roads is walking distance to The Cannery Mall.

Lahaina Shores is 400 block Front St. The tennis courts are 500 block Front, the banyan tree, shops and harbor are 600 block of downtown historic Lahaina.

A walking beach goes from 300 block, past the Lahaina Shores to the harbor.

We%26#39;ll be at the Lahaina Shores next month and were also aware of the construction commencing April 1. We were informed that the pool will be closing for a period of time in mid-May. Hopefully the construction noise and dust won%26#39;t be too much of a problem.

By the way, the Lahiana Shores website has a ';hard hat'; special where you can get an oceanfront studio for $135/night. This is a pretty good savings, considering the normal cost for this type of room is over $200.

I don%26#39;t anything about the Lahaina Roads but the lack of a walkable beach in front of the hotel would be a deal-stopper for me.

We stayed at the Lahaina Roads last October and really liked it. It is a bit of a walk if you are going all the way downtown--but then we are geezers and out of shape ;-) The pool area goes right up to the seawall...if you want to watch television, you will need to turn the volume up because the ocean pounding against the seawall is really loud--we liked that. Also, our unit wasn%26#39;t air conditioned so we kept the door to the lanai open when we were in the unit. We enjoyed our stay there--didn%26#39;t find it a particularly noisy place (except for the ocean--who can complain?) Some units there have really good rates right now.

Lahaina Shores is also nice (we have stayed there three times) and closer to downtown Lahaina. I would want really reduced rates for construction.
