Wyndham Shearwater

We just got a call about a unit we can have through RCI at the Wyndham Shearwater next Christmas. Is this also known as Pahio at Shearwater? I%26#39;m trying to get some info on the place before we accept the offer. We%26#39;ll be travelling with our 17 yo son and will want to be doing lots of active stuff - ziplines, snorkelling/scuba, hiking etc. Any advise is welcome.

Wyndham Shearwater

Hi. Haven%26#39;t been there but can at least answer one part of your question because we are RCI members also %26amp; this resort is one of the ones we submitted a request for. Yes, it used to be known as Pahio at Shearwater so if you have last years resort directory it will still say that. Wyndham Vacations has bought the Pahio resorts on Kauai. I also can tell you that it is located in Princeville right on the Cliffs %26amp; every unit is supposed to have beautiful ocean views from the lanai. We ended up getting a unit at the sister resort Bali Hai Villas which we accepted but I kinda was hoping for Shearwater because of the views. The pool area is nicer at Bali Hai %26amp; I%26#39;m a pool person so that%26#39;s cool too but the views from Shearwater were really outstanding. Happy planning!

Wyndham Shearwater

We are at the Shearwater right now and just love it. The views are spectacular. It is a smaller resort with around 32 units. The units are not plush but are huge. There are not really any activities at the resort. The concierge will help you plan outside activities such as helicopter rides and boat rides.

Thinking about going there in the fall through RCI and was wondering if there is a view from all the units? I know there aren%26#39;t many units, and I don%26#39;t want to get stuck facing the street or something. A couple years ago, we stayed at Bali Hai, but want to try something different. The views sound amazing...Any more info you could share?

We went and checked out the Shearwater last March. We were told they all have ocean views and with the way they%26#39;re situated on the cliff, I believe the do.

I was there about 7 years ago and loved it. The furnishings are not plush or luxurious, but more of a tropical Hawaii touch. The best part is the balcony - most days we can sit outside and watch the whales and dolphins breeching out of the water.
