Hotel Pools

Last time I went to Maui I rented a beach front condo through vrbo and it was wonderfull. But this time I want a place with pool and water slides for my 9 and 10 years old. I like the Hyatt when I checked it out last time. But I don%26#39;t think they have rooms with a kitchen and they are overpriced. Can we use the hotels%26#39; pools once in awhile eventhough you are not a guest there?

thanks

Hotel Pools

The pools are for the hotel guests only. I%26#39;m not sure about the policy of the Hyatt, but some hotels have offered a day pass for the pools in the past. With the economy down, they might be offering these now.

This has been discussed in the past and is a pretty hot topic. The short answer is no, the pools are for paying guests of the property. Would you be arrested or anything? No but it is still not exactly legal and not the sort of message you would want to send to your children. Best bet, find a property that suits your needs and use their pools even if they may not be exactly what you are looking for.

My friend was arrested for trespassing when he sneaked into a local condo%26#39;s pool a few years ago. They saw him (he is clearly a local guy) and called the cops immediately. So yeah, it could happen!

BBill is right - this issue comes up over and over. Bottom line is, don%26#39;t use a pool that you don%26#39;t pay for. It%26#39;s a matter of integrity, and the hotel staff will escort you off property. Paying guests are generally issued wristbands or show their room keys. Hotel pools are not public property. It%26#39;s also true that you may be able to buy a day pass that includes the pool - so call around and ask.

Check AAA rates for both the Westin Ka%26#39;anapali and the Hyatt. The rooms may be cheaper than you think. Neither have kitchens, though. For that you need a condo.

With your list I would look at Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas or Honua Kai (still a work in progress, but introductory rates) - resort feeling and kitchens. Perhaps kaanapali Beach Club.

Call the Hyatt for information on day passes.

This is know as pool crashing... and the hotels are very active to prevent it.... At the very least you can be expected to be loudly and obviously confronted other guests... and then escorted off the property.. and told NOT to return..... unless you pay for a room.....

At the worst you will be cited for trespass, and transported by the police to be booked at the county jail.... if you have minor children they will be remanded to social services till you get out of Jail

Marriott Maui Ocean Club next door to the Hyatt has a beautiful pool with slides and waterfalls. They have rooms with kitchenettes and the newer units have full kitchens.

Agree with the above...check out the Westin Villas and the Marriott Club. Resort feel with great pools and kitchens. The beach in front of the Westin Villas is fantastic, much better than in front of the Marriott.
