Need last min hotel advice

Hi all -

Thank you for your great posts and advice.

We booked a trip (air+hotel+car) to Maui for our one yr anniversary through Discount Hawaii/Happy Vacations through a link we found on TravelZoo.

Our trip is scheduled for 5/3-5/8.

After a week of phone calls/emails w/o a response, we found out that they company filed bankruptcy.

We do have a confirmed flight, but will have dispute our credit card for the charges for the hotel/car.

Does anyone have any suggestions for last min deals on hotel bookings? I called a few hotels: Kaanapali Shores, Kaanapali Beach, Royal Lahaina, but they are either booked or the deals are mediocre.

WE do have Hyatt points and are considering swapping them in for a night or two, but the points are worth so much more for rooms in California.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

What kind of deal are you looking for?

I think the Napili Kai Beach Resort was the one having a great special.

In south Maui, Maui Banyan had some good deals. I%26#39;ll try to find the topic..

Sorry to hear the bad news...something will turn up..the DEs will be checking this tread soon. they have great advice.

It was the Napili Sunset.

Wow, bummer! Ok, whats your per night budget? Would you consider a condo? Let%26#39;s see if we can hatch a plan.

Thanks for all of your responses. We would like to spend $150/night. Kaanapali Shores responded to me and offered me $151 for studio with kitchen, which seems like a fair deal.

If I don%26#39;t find anything better, I may book with them. I%26#39;ll take a look at your suggestions too. Thanks!

How is the Banyan? The reviews don%26#39;t seem so encouraging.

I just hit expedia for your dates and the Maui Kaanapali Villas popped up as a possibility. Don%26#39;t know much about the rooms, they do seem to get great reviews, but the grounds are gorgeous, great beach and we LOVE the Castaway Cafe on site. Good luck!

I am also looking into condos - I am hoping that someone who hasn%26#39;t rented out their place by now will cut us a deal since we%26#39;d be checking in in less than 5 days. :)

The Mahana may have a couple at that price for studios on vrbo.

We like Maui Kaanapali Villas more than Kaanapali Shores. It is the old Hilton and part of the original Kaanapali resort. Serviced by the jitney.

The have a restaurant Castaways with a good wine list and we walk next door to Royal Lahaina hotel for their restaurants and luau. MKV is managed by Aston and they have been having internet specials.

It is a wonderful walk from MKV to Black Rock. Great snorkeling and swimming beach. Spa, conceirge and Nice well established gardens.

Hi, I just read your post and am nervous! We are leaving for Maui on Thursday and was wondering where you were planning on staying that went bankrupt? And where did you find that out?
