Any free parking in Lahaina?

We are headed for another trip to Maui in July. Yay!

Flight and condo were unbelievably cheap.

$345-round trip from Albuquerque, and ocean front at the Valley Isle in Kahana for $103/night!

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas about free parking in Lahaina? Last time, we had to pay a fine at the lot on Lahainaluna St. because I misread the printout at that parking lot. I hate to pay for parking. I%26#39;ve heard there is a free lot near the Kobe Restaurant. Any help would be appreciated!

We usually park in the lot with Hilo Hattie%26#39;s. You can easily get a validation at the ABC Store by buying a bottle of water.

The parking is free on both sides of Front Street...we actually managed to find a spot twice in Jan! There are other spots but they, like Front Street, are usually full. You might check with the Valley Isle, seems to me there is a shuttle/bus that runs from Kahana in Lahaina.

Free parking on the streets (3 hour limit) usually fill up quickly. The land the parking lots are on is quite valuable in Lahaina Towne so if you are not coming in town early or are unwilling to cruise around waiting for the free spots, plan on paying for parking or riding the bus/shuttles into town.

There is a big free lot across from the Kamehameha School near Wharf Center.

Its says 3 hour limit, but I don%26#39;t see anyone checking.

If you drive down the side street at the Lahaina tennis courts it is free and unlimited street parking. Turn in at the Alano Club sign off of Front Street.

700 block Luakini Lane has a free parking lot and a few on the street. 600 Luakini Lane has a few along the street. Both are fairly near Kobe.

Read all street signs closely. Know that AM means after midnight and PM means pefore midnight. Then you might get the spots by Kam School after 2:30 pm.

Do not even park in the loading zone in any harbors for even 5 minutes those DLNR guys are mean. Any ticket from them is a mandatory court appearance and a criminal offence.

The 3 hour limit is spot checked by the cop in the golf cart. Happens 2-3 days a week %26amp; you never know what days. Ticket for going over the 3 hour limit is about $70.00.
