Waikiki Banyan or Embassy Suites

Yet - another accomodation question that I%26#39;m hoping someone can help us with.

We%26#39;re a family of 2 adults travelling with a 2 year old toddler and will be staying in Waikiki for 5-nights and currently debating on staying at the Waikiki Banyan or Embassy Suites (ie. hotel or condo).

Wondering if it is worth the extra money to stay at the Embassy vs. the Banyan which is better priced?

Are the suites at the Embassy that much newer and nicer than the Banyan (which I have read through some reviews as dated)? Are there better amenities at the Embassy? Is the location better to the beaches and main attractions (ie. beachwalk, International Marketplace, etc.)?

Any feedback would be appreciated - especially if someone has stayed at both?

Many thanks in advance.

Waikiki Banyan or Embassy Suites

I would choose the Embassy Suites over the Waikiki Banyan any day.

Waikiki Banyan or Embassy Suites

Is the Embassy that much nicer than the Waikiki Banyan?

Sorry have not stayed at the Banyan, but stayed at Embassy Suites in Oct/Nov last year. These were lovely, still fairly new and very comfortable. The rate also includes buffet breakfast %26amp; Managers Reception each evening (drinks %26amp; nibbles). They had a nice pool area and close to shops, restaurants, beach %26amp; transport.

Some condos at the Banyan are privately owned and may have had recent renovations so researching a particular one may be of more value but it definately has the advantage at affordable parking.

Never stayed at either, but the Embassy Suites is in a nice location and I checked out the pool area, etc. when I was in Waikiki last and I was impressed.

It also has the usual ES amenities of breakfast and cocktails.

I like the Embassy pool but they are so overpriced and I am looking for a condo. Can we use any of the hotels%26#39; pools if we are not guest?

Envy - of course you can%26#39;t. Pools are for paying guests. They are not public property.

Some of the Outrigger/Ohana hotels share pool use but I%26#39;m not sure about Aston or the others but many hotels have at least a small pool.

Anyone looking for a condo at the Banyan can look at this site I haven%26#39;t stayed there but these condos look pretty nice and updated and include the parking.

Envy, you might want to look at the Wyndham Waikiki also on the Beach Walk.
