Aloha, arriving in Honolulu at 940 am means you don%26#39;t get to the arrival gate for another 15 to 20 minutes. Seems like you are a international arrival, coming from Australia, thereby, got to clear customs before heading to -- was it Hawaiian, IflyGO or Mahalo Airlines to Kauai.

You claim your own bags at international arrivals, go through customs and if you have no problems should be done within 45 minutes after arriving at customs.

Out the doors at international arrivals, turn left and it is a short 5 minutes walk to Mahalo and Hawaiian Airlines. IflyGO is located in a separate building, another 5 minutes walk to the commuter terminal.

Lucky enough, if you check in early, the ticket agent may ask you if you want to leave on an earlier flight to Kauai. Don%26#39;t worry about looking for things to do on your short lay over. Worry about getting yourself to the inter-island terminals and see if you can get out earlier to Kauai.

Good luck .....

I wouldn%26#39;t bother leaving the airport. You really only have 1-2 hours extra. Seems a hasslt to try to go into Honolulu on the bus/taxi, and for what?

At the airport there%26#39;s places where you can just sit outside in the sun and wait (one courtyard grassy area I%26#39;m thinking of).

sorry, should have included (in case you didn%26#39;t realize) Honolulu/Waikiki is a 20-30 mins. taxi ride and more like an hour if you go by The Bus. is why I personally thought you didn%26#39;t have the time to go anywhere. To the title of your post, there%26#39;s really nothing ';to do NEAR airport'; (lol)!
