How to rent a timeshare at the Marriot Poipu

I am trying to find a 1 week rental at the Marriott Poipu without going through the main booking site, which is hugely expensive. I looked on VRBO but there were only 2 , 1 was at the Lihue Marriott and the other was booked.

I would rather stay on Poipu area. Does anyone know a site for these rentals.

What do yu think of the Marriott Lihue.

How about the K plantation?

Thanks folks

How to rent a timeshare at the Marriot Poipu

ek, hi!

By all means check out VRBO for Kiahuna Plantation! There are amazing prices on offer. Be sure to check under Koloa listings as well as Kiahuna itself.

Often, if you check timeshare for sale sites, specifying Waiohai Marriott, you will see offers to RENT the units as well as sell. I can%26#39;t think of a site right off the top of my head, but do a google! I did it when we were looking at owning at Waiohai.

Waiohai is very lovely. If you like to be surrounded by people as you enjoy the ocean and the sun, it is for you. In terms of beach, they are not very different and each within a short stroll of the other. If you like/need more serenity and space and rejuvenation - go to Kiahuna! Kiahuna is a world unto itself, very friendly yet very private. The grounds are outstanding. Even full, it never seems like there are many around. Waiohai has a different air to it - you feel the crowd and it is has a strong resort feel. There is an energy to that, which may be just right for you.

They are not the same, but both quite wonderful. If you are interested in Kiahuna, find a few units that interest you, let us know them and your budget, and we can give you some real assistance. I know several well.

By the way, when are you travelling?

Good luck!

Look at the Marketplace at www.tug2.net. There are some rentals on that site for the Marriot in Poipu. You might also want to check www.redweek.com. I saw a ton of rentals on that site. This way you would be renting an owner%26#39;s time and the price can be negotiable.

Redweek.com is another great place to check. Good luck!

Hmmmmm suuurrrounded by people as I enjoy the water and surf. I am sure my teens would love it but my next question is How about if I enjoy the plantation and let them walk over to enjoy the surrounding people? Would that work? Would they be safe in the water at Poipu beach? How far a walk is it?

I would love more info on either a 2 bedroom at the plantation or 2 ,1 bedroom units in close proximity. If finances allow.

What is Lihue like?

Thanks for the heads up.

Whoops,

I am traveling 6/28-7/5 with two teens 18 and 14 and my husband. I would like to be close to the beach, oceanview better than oceanfront for me.

Check Craigslist

The Marriott in Lihue is very nice with an over the top pool and nice bay close by.

ek,

It would work. Worth checking out!! You probably could get two units at Kiahuna for the cost of Waiohai. And the properties are very close - there is only one small property between them - the newly opened Ko%26#39;a Kea Hotel. Not even 5 minutes apart. The Waiohai beach is not lifeguarded; Poipu Beach (with lifeguard) is just around the point from there - another couple minutes only.

www.wizardpub.com/kauai/krkiahuna.html will show you how close they all are. The path right to Waiohai is along, but above, the bit of rocky shore. Very simple.

My two were 18 and 17 last Christmas and in fact loved going over to Waiohai and I was never worried. You know your kids.

Budget will dictate. Have a good look at VRBO.

I would also take a look at Poipu Kapili. It is a very short walk to the Kiahuna beach and the 2 bedroom townhouse condo%26#39;s are lovely. There is a small road that runs in front of the complex. between the oceanfront units, but you really don%26#39;t notice it much and the ocean drowns out most if not all noise. It has the Kiahuna plantation feel, but smaller. We really enjoy it there when we need a 2 bedroom.

They have some condo%26#39;s on vrbo and if you rent directly you can choose your unit and the often give discounts.

Keep in mind ..none of the previously described units have A/C except Waiohai...
