I am thinking of booking a trip to hawaii we will fly from sydney australia and hoping on a cruise back to australia it is for 16 nights , but what i would like to know we are looking at getting there 3 days before we sail, where should we stay and what should we see it is only myself and my husband,

Most likely your cruise will leave from Honolulu, so book a nice hotel on Waikiki and enjoy. Try to squeeze out more time for Hawaii if you can.

There is an abundance of things to do -- including great shopping, historical sites, great beaches ... what kinds of things to you like to do?

You cruiseline may have pre-cruise ';deals'; with some hotels. I have never seen one of those that was actually a GOOD deal. You have lots of options.

Pick up a copy of the travel guide ';Oahu Revealed'; for a good overview of the island.

maxima - you could get a head start by hopping over to the lefthand column and see what you find in the Before You Go section for both the State of Hawaii and Oahu, as well as the other islands that you will be visiting.

The book titles are dumb, but ';Hawaii for Dummies'; is very helpful.
