Outrigger Royal Kahana Resort Condo (Lahaina)...Need Advise!

after a very exhaustive search and many many price changes online, we booked a room here, I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s fine...... Any advise on places near for good snorkeling, bars, fun things to do? Since all my plans for Mexico were abruptly stopped, I%26#39;m glad I found this for a decent price! BTW, thanks to all who sent me information on places! I really appreciate it!

Aloha Pete,

You picked a nice resort and Kahana is a very nice area. You are close to many restaurant/bars within walking distance. Almost directly across the street from you is the Kahana Gateway with one of the most fun places, The Maui Brewery, the only micro brewery on Maui they even have a coconut port. It%26#39;s a really fun and lively gathering place and even has live music...check their web site for that schedule. Also in the Kahana Gateway is a Roy%26#39;s for fine dining, a steak house and even a McDonalds. There is also a funky and fun bar directly across the street from you called Dollie%26#39;s Pub and 1 block north The China Boat, voted best Chinese restaurant on the island several years in a row, with a small intimate bar. Again within walking distance is The Sands of Kahana with a popular bar and restaurant. See what a good area you picked....not finished yet. Just a short drive up the road, about 7 minutes north, is Napili %26amp; Kapalua. I would recommend Sansei Sushi next to the Ritz Carlton for a good time, they used to have a kareoke (sp) night, you could call and check on that. Also The Sea House with ocean view bar, Merriman%26#39;s with the most spectacular views and bar, Pineapple Grill in Kapalua, Ritz Carlton bar, Plantation House with a bar. These are all the ones I know of that are close by. Many, many more in Kaanapali Beach area and Lahaina town.

Now for the snorkeling....Napili and Kapalua Bay 5 minutes north and Honolua Bay just a short drive north. I have seen quite a few people snorkeling in front of the Kahana Reef resort just a block north of you, but don%26#39;t know how good it is.

If you really want some good info on fun adventures drive up to Kapalua, on Office Road there is an Adventure Center, their concierge will give you advice on any adventure you might want to set up on Maui, they are very knowledgeable. I think you will have a great time! If you want to see an aerial view of your resort wizardpub has some great pictures and reviews. Good luck!

Leilani%26#39;s at the bar level for drinks and alcohol at Whalers Village.

Whalers Village has a free whaling museum.

zipline is a very popular actiity.

A daytime drive up Haleakala then over to the Winery or to the cowboy town makawao.

Then down thru Paia (surf town) and over to Hookipa lookout to see the best windsurfing.

SantaBarbaraBeachgal said it all!! Very good advice and plenty of places to have fun in your area. You will be in one of my favorite places on Maui. Do check out Napili, Kapalua and Honolua Bay%26#39;s for some of the best snorkeling in Maui.
