Typical Convertible Price in July?

My fiance and I are looking to rent a convertible for our 7 night trip, 7.19-7.26. Priceline offers the lowest deal I%26#39;ve found so far- $326 inclusive of tax %26amp; fees. The price before taxes is about $37/day.

I did a name your price bid of $25 %26amp; got rejected. Tried $27 %26amp; got rejected again. I figured this would work since they say so many people get up to 30% off the ';regular'; price.

How much does a convertible go for in the summer months? I%26#39;ve checked out costco but can%26#39;t find anything cheaper.

Any help much appreciated! :)

I tried every discount code I had - Dollar via discounthawaiicarrental.com got me the lowest price for your dates - $344 w/ tax and fees.

Looks to me like you got a good deal through priceline.

Book the best deal you can find now and then wait until you are about 2 weeks out to try the Name Your Price option. There is no incentive for the rental agencies to deeply discount now for a July travel date. But a couple of weeks in advance if they still have unreserved inventory, they will offer the discounts. Then if you get a great discount price you can cancel your other reservation.

I agree with VCSnowbird--go ahead and reserve your car now and then check 2 weeks before your trip. There%26#39;s no penalty if you cancel your reservation if you find a better deal.

Thanks! I didn%26#39;t realize that you could cancel a car reservation without a penalty. I just booked through the company website- $328 for 7 days. I will definitely be checking back in from time to time to see if prices drop. I%26#39;ll also try name your own price a couple of weeks beforehand.

Thanks RutgersPat! I checked out the deal- it%26#39;s a little higher for my dates ($294 inclusive of taxes %26amp; fees) but still lower than what I had found from Dollar! I booked that deal %26amp; will go back %26amp; cancel the original!
